Equinox + Full Moon in Libra | March 20, 2019

Full Moon MARCH.png

This Full Moon event occurs at the 0 degree mark in the sign of Libra, so it brings with it a vibration of renewal — an aspect that is amplified by the Divine Timing of this one, too. It’s happening with the Equinox, marking the dawn of the new season. (Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern.) Adding to the significance of this lunation, is the intensity of this current Mercury Retrograde. And next month (on Apirl 19th) we’ll have another Full Moon in Libra; only that time, it will be at the final degree mark of the respective sign. This is a new beginning in the middle of an end, that will offer some significant closure during this 28 day cycle.

The Challenge: conflicting ideas, conformity that leads to resentment, stand-off, stalemate, resistance or unwillingness to see the truth of what is in the moment, ambivalence, reluctance to commit or sitting-on-the-fence, indecisiveness, low self-esteem, feeling incompetent, abandonment of self or individual ideas for the sake of compromise

The Breakthrough/Potential Wisdom: equilibrium, diplomacy, non-partisan stance that results in benefits for both sides, objective communication, comfortable balance, amicable resolutions, honor and respect within relationships, deeply spiritual inner-peace, empowered decision-making abilities, manifestation through intellectual debates that lead to progress and justice, revelations of higher Truth (whole Truth), union with another while standing firm in individual identify, healthy compromise that provides healing from old wounds

Libra Decan I.png

The Sun enters the Sign of Aries, ending the astrological year and beginning a new season every year at the time of the March Equinox. This time, the Moon (in Libra) will be opposing it, illuminating this newness with Full Moonlight at the degree of new beginnings - zero. Adding to this influence of new beginnings is the 2 of Swords. The astrological symbols on this Tarot card are the Moon and the sign of Libra, further amplifying these Libran vibes. (This Full Moon corresponds with last October’s New Moon in Libra.)

In the Book of Thoth, Aleister Crowley describes the 2 of Swords as energy that “abides above the onslaught of disruption”. We come to terms with what is; the ever-changing, yet consistent, energy of Nature. The Nature of our environment, our material world, and also the nature of who we are. There is beauty in that realization that provides a necessary equilibrium, from which we can move beyond present challenges and open up to new possibilities. This is could be a calming effect that acts a conduit for deeper healing, as we may come to be more at peace with the very essence of Life itself.

God and Goddess At War

The planetary rulers of this Full Moon (Mars and Venus) square off in a way that could reveal hidden tension within relationships.

What we want (to release or to start) may be in conflict with what we think or feel we can actually have. What we want may be very different than what the other person wants, or believes is even possible. We are susceptible to far-reaching and unrealistic expectations now (and really, this influence sticks with us all year long). But, when we meet each other in the space of acceptance of what is right in front of us and communicate from a calm place within, we create a new way forward. Together.

There’s a focus on what will sustain us and help us feel safe in the long-run, while also (maybe) feeling the desire to split or be more free to explore beyond what we’ve known. (Especially if situations in relationships have been difficult for a while.) It’s hard to tell where things will end up and tensions may be high.

While the Equinox is a time of balance, a time when day and night are equal, there’s this interesting pattern in the cosmos that reveals what I see as a sort of tilted-cross, even what appears like an anarchy symbol, with Mars (Masculine) and Venus (Feminine).

Truth and Justice…. OR Righteous Justification?

Amid a mind-numbing Mercury Retrograde phase, this Full Moon seems to provide a strange sense of deep direction. But, taking some time for healthy inner-reflection would be a wise move before jumping into the mud…. You can’t see what’s down there. Make sure you’re aligned with what is true and an absolute non-negotiable value for you before making a statement.

It’s essential to sift through the illusions that are so pervasive at this time. What pops up first to get your attention deserves to be examined. We don’t have all of the information yet.

The trick is to not get too comfortable with doubt and sitting on the fence. What is revealed with this moonlight glow is something asking to be released and immediately paving a new path forward. It feels as though there will come a need to defend the position you take, so it must be anchored in Truth, not self-defensiveness.

Relationships of all kinds may get a bit of a tune-up now…. Notice when you may be operating on a need to be right and simply defending your position or desires without truly listening to the other. But also notice where you may have been right all along, and you’ve been self-sacrificing in ways that simply are not good for you. Self-righteousness can show up in that way, too…. when we believe we’re doing it all for another person and we secretly feel we deserve some kind of medal for that.

Truth and justice is not something that feels like a blow to the ego. It’s not deflating or cumbersome. It’s like putting down a heavy load and feeling like you can stand up straighter Holding your head high but not looking down on another, meeting them eye to eye. A true win-win. — To be clear, this doesn’t always mean there is happy ending or just agreement. There may be those we encounter that simply show us a piece of ourselves we hadn’t faced before. We can choose to hold our head high and make a choice that honors both parties in the situation, and sometimes that means parting ways. A win-win is possible when we, individually, choose to act from a higher place within us, so no one walks away a loser.

It feels like reclaiming a lost part of yourself. The beautiful thing is that our people, the relationships in our lives, are great facilitators of this kind of enlightenment.

A New Chapter

Even when the odds seem to be stacked against you (or your love), there’s gentle opening — a sort of part in the clouds.

With the 2 of Swords, the pair of swords intersect inside the blue rose that is shaped like a cup. This is not a mushy, self-abandoning, “You complete me” terms of endearment kind of vibe. It IS an honoring of the individual and the whole. It’s the beginning, a glimpse of a higher potential within a partnership that is grounded in honesty and transparency. It’s sobering. And mystical.

This is the beginning of a new kind of relationship — with another, within ourselves or with our worldview. We come to terms and then leap forward in some way.

There’s a reason I selected this song for this Full Moon’s soundtrack. We get to begin a whole chapter now when we get real about what actually is in front of us, know what we want and then are brave enough to face it. There’s a fated, even sparkly quality here…… an opening to new possibilities we haven’t been able to get a glimpse of before. We get to embrace a new reality together with someone. And that makes even feel even more possible.

A Whole New World | New Moon in Pisces | March 2019

New Moon MARCH.png

With this New Moon in Pisces (Decan II) aligned with the 9 of Cups, we can feel full to the brim with dreamy, flow-y good vibes. It can be fairy-tale-like and yet, at the same time, we can realize something’s missing or not quite measuring up to the perfection we know is possible. With Mercury stationing retrograde and Uranus crashing into the sign of Taurus (this time to stay for several years) around the same time, these vibes can make way for emotional instability and surprising events that seem to threaten our happy endings.

The Challenge: feelings of loneliness, over-compensating for inner sense of lack or guilt, over-giving, over-indulgence or bingeing, depression, feeling like something’s off, missing or forgotten, self-righteousness, smugness or snark, complacency or lack of willpower, opting for ease above all and resisting responsibility, giving up right before reaching a milestone, settling for good enough, blissful ignorance

The Breakthrough/Potential Wisdom: wish fulfillment or new wishes coming to light, emotional satisfaction, material happiness, in the mood to share and give, connected to infinite Love/willingness to love unconditionally, envisioning new hopes and dreams, on-point law of attraction, synchronicities, deeper connection with true happiness and appreciation through new experiences and celebrations, harmony, beauty, bliss, feeling open to more possibilities, blessings multiplied

Pisces Decan II.png

Just look at those goblets overflowing with goodness in the imagery of this Tarot card, the 9 of Cups! Everything looks beautifully abundant…. But, it’s not yet complete. It’s like scoring a 9 out of 10. It’s really good, but it’s not perfect. We could do better. And we’ve almost made it. - Almost, being the keyword there.

We may experience feelings of being over-joyed in some way, but it gets tainted by feelings of loneliness, guilt or looming sadness… It may feel fleeting and only temporary and we may want to hold on longer. This could be like achieving some goal or getting the opportunity or recognition of a lifetime, but wishing someone special was there to celebrate with you. Or overwhelming guilt when feeling happy, knowing that others are suffering. There’s a nagging realization that realities differ and we only see one fragment at a time… and we want more. We won’t want to feel good when someone else is suffering, and we won’t want to suffer when someone else is having the time of their life. With Pisces, we want it all to be beautiful and perfect.

Always Had a Vision. . .

I didn’t know how, but I always had a feelin’.” - One of the lines that stands out for me from this song I selected as the soundtrack for this New Moon.

Some desires may be unveiled and feel much more possible now. We can simultaneously get the feeling that our visions are closer than ever to becoming a reality, and yet we don’t know how. It’s still confusing… but high hopes are on tap, none the less.

We’ve gotta feel into it with this New Moon, if we want to make the most of it. That means getting into the feelings of what you want, truly. Let that vision sweep over you. It’s entirely possible now to let that feeling fill you up so fully you may wonder if you are flying or drunk on the nectar of Life. But remember the fine details of that vision of yours…

As I mentioned before with this 9 of Cups in the mix, it’s important to consider what might be missing or could potentially ruin the happy ending you envision. Like losing all the weight you wanted to, but only as a result of getting very sick and being unable to eat, or getting that high-paying dream job, but having no time for friends or a social life. What would you not be willing to sacrifice? What really, really, really matters in the end? (That’s where getting into the feelings of the vision really helps!)

Also…. Does it have to be lonely at the top? I don’t believe so. We’ve got support in changing our deeply rooted, even unconscious, perceptions this year. So as you dream those big dreams and envision your own heaven on Earth, take time to reconsider any preconceived notions and underlying beliefs you hold when it comes to your heart’s desires. These sneaky influences, that can lead to our own self-undoing, are worth becoming more aware of now. (Especially when it comes to those things you’ve wanted forever and can’t seem to catch a break. Now’s your chance to breakthrough that shizzle once and for all!) It’s about creating a new normal; a whole new world for ourselves.

Happy is my natural condition.
Life gives me all I need to be happy.

We’re Not in Kansas Anymore.

So many shifts happen all at once alongside this New Moon in Pisces. We could be meeting up against some confusion, ranging from subtle to more serious, and thinking, What now?

Just like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, we could face some bizarre characters and situations. We may not realize how we got here from there. Things don’t quite add up. Now we’re really in it… the realm of the unbelievable and fantastical. It can really take us aback, and make us wonder. We may even be wondering about things we’ve never encountered before in our lives, especially as it relates to sustainability and the Future. On a personal level and on the collective scale.

Chances are pretty good we feel different, but may not be able to find the words or thoughts to make sense of why or exactly how we feel different…. That’s because Mercury is at a stand still on the final degree of Pisces (and the zodiac), stationing retrograde. We may feel compelled to move forward, but feel like we’ve forgotten something very important, which ignites feelings of anxiety, urgency or desperation.

On some level, we know we must trust and have faith, perhaps like we never have before. Remember, in the Wizard of Oz, it wasn’t the yellow brick road that led Dorothy to the Truth. It was her ruby red slippers that made the magic happen. What she already had, and simply hadn’t recognized the power of before, that led her back home.

You had the power all along, my dear.
— Glinda, The Good Witch

Make a Wish!

The 9 of Cups is known by adept Tarot readers as the “wish card”. Our wishes are extra blessed with this New Moon!

While there are certainly some shaky vibes with this one overall, that in no way diminishes the fact that this is the time for renewed hope, a boost of faith and wishes granted. In it’s purest, most magical form, like a child innocently wishing upon a star…. Dreams do come true under this New Moon influence.

If anything —- anything at all — was possible, what would you wish for?

Go big. Let your imagination play. Open up to blessings and miraculous turnarounds.

Remember to include what you’ve identified as missing from the bigger picture and what you ultimately want to feel when you’re wishing. That’s more important than the logistics now.

[And if you are one (like me) to freely wish for blessings and all things good for others, but have a tendency to forget to include yourself —-don’t forget yourself this time. Ok?]

The concept of wishing upon a star is particularly relevant now. To wish upon a star is symbolic, in that we aim high for something beyond us and in the unknown reaches of space. It’s like trusting in a Higher Power. And it’s common practice to not feel pressure to figure out the how. We simply wish and let it go. It’s not our job to make the wish come true. That part is out of our hands.

Be a believer now. Even if it’s just for a moment. This is, after all, a whole new world. And together, we get to create the experience we have in it.

Losing Your Mind? 3 Tips For Staying Sane During Mercury Retrograde in Pisces | March 2019

1. Go Beneath The Surface. Listen. . .

We can work with the subtle energies during this Mercury Retrograde to reprogram our mind and tune in to maximum healing, optimal health and spiritual union.

I recommend listening to whale songs, uplifting music or binaural beats. It’s a great time to utilize guided meditations, hypnotherapy or have audios with subliminal messages — positive affirmations, playing in the background. (CAUTION: Not while driving or operating machinery, though!)

Listen to your dreams, too! Even if you are one who rarely remembers your dreams, you may get clear and direct messages through your dream state now. Keep a journal near your bed to jot down notes when you wake, even it’s in the middle of the night. You can grab my Dream Interpretation: Simplified PDF Guide via Facebook Messenger HERE to decode the symbolic messages you receive. (It’s totally free.)

2. Set Daily Reminders!!!

Losing track of time or missing things is entirely possible, especially during this Mercury Retrograde phase. Double-check your calendar, confirm appointments and set double-alarms.

I highly recommend using apps that pop-up with reminders throughout the day anytime. I use (and LOVE) The Vibe app for high-vibe affirmations via notifications on my iPhone every couple hours throughout the day. It’s also got a mediation (with gong sounds optional) timer feature. (If you have an app that gives you daily positive reminders, share it in the comments!)

Use a daily planner with notes to yourself, or post-it notes plastered in places where you’ll see them often — like your desk, fridge or bathroom mirror. Make it easy on yourself to remember what’s most important, whether that’s a task you must do or deadlines to meet, or personal affirmations that uplift you and keep you on track when all else seems to be lost.

3. Balance Alone Time with Time With Others

In the month of March we can more easily get lost in our own worlds. OR… we may too easily become consumed by the realities of others, as the lines between us and them gets blurred.

If you notice yourself slipping into isolation, feeling lonely, or getting wrapped up in your own daydreaming or projects that you’re forgetting to spend time with other people, stop and reconnect with your people. In-person is optimal. You are not alone. We’re in this together. Reach out for support when you need it (even if you think you don’t!), allow yourself to open up to connecting with other people. We need each other now, more than ever.

If you notice yourself getting so caught up in other peoples business or drama, especially when it comes to the taking care of others, make some time to do something for yourself and spend some time alone. Don’t abandon yourself. Your needs matter, too. Sometimes we all need to take a break and tune in to re-align with our true self, what we need and want in any given moment. It’s tough to get an accurate read on that when we spend all of our time with others, especially those nearest and dearest to us.

This is a bit of a tricky thing to remember in the realms of Pisces, where we can feel the need to sacrifice everything for the sake of others, whether that’s through taking care of everything or removing our own presence or involvement from the situation, perhaps feeling like we only make things worse. We may sway from one end of this spectrum to the other in the coming weeks.

Let that be okay. Stay aware, and reconnect or disconnect when you notice yourself tipping too far in one direction. You will stay afloat! You may simply need to readjust your sails from time to time.
