Justice League | New Moon in LIBRA | September 28, 2019

With a New Moon in LIBRA (Decan I) on the heels of the September Equinox, we begin to recognize the symmetry in life, in our own life. It is an invitation to bring forth a new kind of beauty in our relationships with people, finances and all the material matters. We can begin to cultivate a deeper understanding of which limits are fair and just and which ones have been self-constructed by a fearful, wounded inner-warrior.

This NEW MOON’s Soundtrack: Come Together by The Beattles - I like this version by Gary Clark Jr. for the Justice League Movie Soundtrack [Music Video]

The Challenge: to remain confident and firm in your own unique strength without bending to the will of another, to listen to all information before making judgement, inaction or unwillingness to make important decisions, over-compensating or impractical bargaining

The Breakthrough/Potential Wisdom: willingness to participate in discussions that get to the heart of a matter and create positive change, peaceful reconciliations, joining forces with others to solve bigger problems, opening to greater support, harmony, restoration of balance, healthy compromise for the higher good or good of the whole (family, community, nation or organization), wise decisions, powerful partnerships and collaborative endeavors

Libra Decan I.png

This New Moon’s vibe draws on the wisdom of the 2 of Swords: Peace.

This comparative calm is emphasized by the celestial attribution: the Moon in Libra.

The Moon is change, but Nature is peaceful; moreover, Libra represents balance; between them, they regulate the energy of the Swords
— Aleister Crowley, The Book of Thoth

The gradation of green and yellow in the background of this Tarot card give the impression that something new is emerging, gracefully. Yet, the geometric shapes behind the pair of swords give it an edge. The swords cross, meeting at the midpoint, where a rose contains this space in which they connect.

What I love about this card is that it’s so simple. Each sword is pointed in an opposite direction, but they meet in the middle. Just as we each may have differing opinions, motivations and inclinations — we can still find a common ground. That sweet spot where we remember we’re not all that different and perhaps we have something better to bring to life when we find a way to connect. Or perhaps it is diplomatic discussion that brings the bickering and wars to a halt?

At The Intersection of The Beginning and The End

The swords cross to form an X in the 2 of Swords.

Consider the “X” for a moment… It is complicated, but with only 2 discernible representations, really. X marks the spot, signifying a treasure discovery. In this example there’s something worth diving into and learning more about. There’s something good there that has been hidden, and with a clear mark on this location there is a renewed sense of clarity…. of finally arriving at a destination.

An X is also a shield - a warning to beware of what lies beyond a certain point. You may throw your arms up and cross your arms as a physical representation of your desire to shut out or block a certain kind of energy.

A fight begins or ends at this point. This is the intersection of choice; the quintessential fork in the road. Will you fight, stand firm in your resistance, or concede and peacefully surrender? And which on is the most appropriate decision to make?

Peace-Keepers and Defenders of Truth and Justice

These are New Moon vibes, so something new is coming up and will be fully unveiled with it’s counterpart, the Full Moon in Libra next year. We can’t truly see what it will look like in real life yet. This is a double-initiation with a New Moon in the Cardinal sign of Libra, and just after the start of a new season. Clarity will come, but for now we must set our sights on Truth and Justice, and be willing to be objective where perhaps we couldn’t have been before.

Objectivity is a prerequisite for any revelation of Truth and Justice, as is symbolized in the Tarot card aligned with Libra. [I shared more in-depth about that particular card in last week’s #ELEV8Live show here.]

The 2 of Swords in the Tarot symbolizes Peace which comes from opposing forces and coming at a central focal point from different angles. When something is precious and meaningful to us, we will defend it in every way possible. Not just one way. When a decision is important to us, we often ask for advice, listen to others — what would you do in __ situation? — and get second opinions. When it really matters, we make alliances and turn to others for resources and information.

Often in readings, the 2 of swords reveals too much reliance on other’s opinions, an inability to make a decision and a fear of upsetting someone else (disrupting a perceived balance or what feels fair)... When a person is locked-in limbo or compromising too much, they’ve lost their own preferences and no longer know what they actually want, or their voice becomes merely a whisper when it comes to certain matter.

A new kind of commitment to revealing truth will arise now. Some powerful voices will be joining together in pursuit of justice as new evidence appears, and likely in surprising ways. It makes us think totally outside the book of laws we’ve known or consider different elements OF those laws with a more discerning eye. It becomes more relevant and more clear where the gray areas are, and how rules have been bent in ways that have become unjust..

There’s a need at this time to consider “both sides” — to listen to others, as well as share our own ideas and solutions to a greater issue that goes beyond what we’ve thought of before, on our own or in our own little echo chambers. By nature, we project and reflect. We go back and forth. It’s important to consider different points of view, ideas and plans of action.

All are equal under the eyes of the Law.

And we are currently deep in the undercurrent of smoke and mirrors. It may difficult to see through it.

Come Together

4 planets are dignified at this time of the September New Moon. This means that these planets are operating in their most optimal environments. They are “in their element”, in their Prime. They do what they do best under these conditions, naturally.

I think of this effect like the Superheroes we all know and love; our modern-day archetypal symbols. When they come together to form the Justice League (or if you’re more of a Marvel fan, the Avengers) they do what they are best at for a common cause, to achieve a goal and overcome some kind of destructive force. Something they could not do on their own, because the issue at hand is much bigger than what they can manage individually. Even Superman would be defeated if he chose to face this villainous monster alone.

These are the times we are in. We, too, can come together and join forces against a foe. But we must be willing (not too afraid) to be authentic and true to ourselves. We can’t pretend to be something we’re not, because bad actors won’t survive this wave of energy, even if for a time they seem to take over the air waves.. The truth is being revealed. This is the Big Leagues — and the energy is ripe for a powerful alliance that has the potential to combat the destructive forces present today. But first, we must be willing to listen, observe, consider and engage. We must see what the real danger is, or else we’ll be going around and around inside a maze of smoke and mirrors.
